Cardinals Close Out Home Schedule With Wins Over Valentine

Loading

Following Friday road losses, the Chadron High boys and girls basketball teams both bounced back with wins over Valentine in their home finales on Saturday.

Demi Ferguson became the 6th Chadron High girl in school history to eclipse the 1,000 point mark with a game high 16 in a 51-37 victory over the Badgers.  Haylee Wild went off for a season high 12.

Chadron watched a 12 point halftime lead shrink to five after three quarters only to outscore Valentine 17-8 in the final period.

The win snaps a two game slump for the Cards.

The Valentine boys built an eight point lead in the 3rd quarter only to watch Chadron score the next 18 points of the game and eventually take an 11 point advantage before the Cardinal closed out a 62-53 win.

Thomas Smith came in off the bench to score 18 for Chadron.  Brady Daniels scored 12 and Tyler Spotted Elk added 11.

Chadron now has their most wins in a season since the 2014-15 season.

Chadron will travel to Sidney next Friday where it will be the final regular season game for the girls.  Catch the action on KCSR and Chadrad.com.
