The Chadron Cardinals and the Alliance Bulldogs met up for the 75th time in Alliance Friday Night and similarly to how recent history has gone, the Chadron Cardinals rolled past Alliance 54-12.
The half was all Chadron as the Cardinals started on a 47-0 run. Quinn Bailey had the first four touchdowns, all in the first quarter before the Cardinals started rotating players. Caden Buskrik got on the board to begin the second quarter from two yards out. JT Obando hit his first field goal of the season, a 24 yard kick. Jayce Hoffman joined the party as well with a six yard run. All before Alliance hit a big play with a 45 yard touchdown pass. The score at the half was 47-6 Chadron.
Running clock rules were in effect in the second half and Alliance went three and out to begin the second half The first play for the Cardinals in the second half they hit paydirt. An outside handoff to Bailey went 61 yards to the endzone for his fifth touchdown on the final play of his night.ย
Alliance added a late two yard rush in but it was all Cardinals as they won 54-12.
Bailey ended the night with 226 yards on 17 carries unofficially with five touchdowns.
Layne Davidson set a career high with 121 yards on 10 carries. Chadron as a team rushed for 388 yards on 40 carries for an average of 9.7 yards per play rushing and finished the game with 459 yards.
The Cardinals will travel to class B Gering on Friday October 18th for the 76th meeting all time with the Bulldogs, kickoff set for 7pm.
