Cardinals Run Past Ogallala

Loading

After making the playoffs last year, Chadron graduated their starting quarterback, along with their top pass catchers. A Lot of teams would take a step back but the Cardinals have not as they are 5-0 for the first time since 2021 after their 34-14 win over the Ogallala Indians Friday Night.

The game started off on the wrong note for the Cardinals as on the first play from scrimmage Sawyer Smith for the Indians went 74 yards to the endzone. The two point conversion was good which made it 8-0 Ogallala 14 seconds into the game.

From there it was all Quinn Bailey and the Chadron Cardinals as Bailey rushed for 5 touchdowns and a sneaky 301 yards.

Bailey had two of those rushing touchdowns in the first quarter as the Cardinals took a 14-8 lead after one quarter. The teams traded touchdowns in the second quarter but Chadron converted their two point conversion and Ogallala did not making it 22-14 at the half.

Chadron added Bailey rushing touchdowns in the third and fourth quarter to finish off the 34-14 win.

The Cardinals had 363 yards with 335 of them being rushing and 28 passing.

Tobin Landen was 1-1 passing for 28 yards with the pass being caught by Caden Buskirk.

The Cardinals are now 5-0 and will host Chase County on Friday Night. Pregame is set for 5:30 with kick following at 6. You can hear the game on 610am KCSR and chadrad.com

Note: Quinn Bailey is now 90 yards away from being the 60th man in Nebraska high school football history to reach 5,000 rushing yards.
