The Chadron Cardinals softball ventured down to Scottsbluff to begin the final week of their regular season. The Cardinals struggled, losing 9-1.
The Cardinals went three up and three down to begin the game and the Bearcats pounced, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first and continued to score every half inning the rest of the game.
Chadron got their lone run in the top of the third after Brylee Huffman got on base following an error and was driven home on an RBI base hit by Averielle Sager. The Bearcats finished off the run rule victory in the bottom of the fifth scoring one run to make it a 9-1 win.
The Cardinals are 11-14 on the season and will travel to Imperial on Saturday to face off against Alliance and Chase County, two teams they have beaten in every matchup this season. Then it is off to Genoa for the C-5 sub district tournament.
