The Chadron High boys and basketball teams ended up on different ends of championship games at the George Watson Holiday Classic..
The Lady Cardinals went on a 19-2 run through the 2nd and 3rd quarters to win their 2nd game in a row with a 52-45 win over Custer to claim the title. Demi Ferguson and Taverra Sayaloune each put up 13 points as Chadron won the championship for the first time since 2021.
Custer used an 11-0 4th quarter run to take down the Chadron boys 62-55 to win the championship for the 2nd year in a row. Brady Daniels had 15 to lead Chadron with Tyler Spotted Elk chipping in 13 and Thomas Smith coming away with 10.
Chadron will return to the Bird Cage on Tuesday night when they welcome Hot Springs.
