Carol Jean (Clifford) Shangreaux, “Wakanyan Pahaya Nangi” was born on August 30, 1952 in Denver, CO to Cherry DuBray, and adopted by Arthur and Isabelle Clifford. Carol made her journey to the Spirit World on May 16, 2024 at the Adara Living Nursing Home in Broomfield, CO.
Carol is survived by her children Lora Shangreaux and Shawn Shangreaux, both of Rapid City, SD and Michelle Shangreaux of Denver, CO; Hunka Sons Monte Buckley of Commerce City, CO and Roger Yellowboy of Allen, SD; Hunka Daughter Lisa Two Eagle of Rapid City; and grandchildren Wakinyan, Waylon and Miguel Shangreaux, all of Denver, and Larissa and Dwayne Shangreaux of Rapid City.
She is also survived by her sisters Alice Brewer of Winslow, AZ, and Tina Farahmandi and Pamela Town, both of Denver; brother James Harper of Denver; Hunka Family Mary Rose Dillon of Martin, Debra Johnson and Janet Eagle Heart, both of Rapid City, Emmy Eagle Heart of Martin and Isaac Red Bear of Rapid City; and special nieces Sherrie Has No Horse of Allen, Vanice Shearer of Kansas City, MO, Anne Clifford Torres of Parker, AZ, and Cherry DuBray of Seattle, WA.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Cherry DuBray & Isabelle & Arthur Clifford; brothers Robert Clifford, Ron DuBray and Howard Red Bear; sisters Mable Eagle Heart & Jason Two Eagle; and late husband Orville Shangreaux.
Pallbearers will be Wakinyan Shangreaux, Dwayne Shangreaux, Issac Red Bear, Cody Hopkins, Roger Yellowboy, Alvin Iron Cloud Jr, Waylon Gaddie, and Duane Long Pumpkin.
