CFO To Be Interim NU President When Carter Leaves At End Of Month

Loading

The University of Nebraska Board of Regents on Friday officially named university system Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Business and Finance Chris Kabourek as the interim successor to President Ted Carter.

Carter’s resignation to become President of Ohio State takes effect at the end of the month. Kabourek will then serve as Interim President during the nationwide search for a permanent successor to Carter. He will not be a candidate for that job.

Regent Robert Schafer said Kabourek is equipped for the job because of his close work on the budget, which is currently projected to have a $58-million dollar shortfall.

Even though Carter has been at Nebraska less than 5 years and he’s leaving for another school, the Regents voted to give him the title president emeritus.
