The cities of Chadron and Crawford have both declared snow emergencies, but they will start at very different times.
The Crawford snow emergency begins this afternoon at 4:00 and runs until noon tomorrow while Chadron’s snow emergency begins at 2:00 tomorrow morning and will remain in effect until noon or all the snow in the streets has been removed.
In both Chadron and Crawford, the declaration of a snow emergency means all vehicles, trailers, and obstructions must be removed from the designated snow emergency routes. Those remaining may be ticketed or towed at the owners’ expense.
By clearing all vehicles and the like from the streets, city crews are able to plow curb-to-curb and completely clear the pavement.
More information about the Chadron snow emergency routes is available on the City’s website.
