The Chadron Platte Valley Bank American Legion Post 12 seniors wrapped up their College World Series Trip with a stop along Highway 20 in the Heart City of Valentine. A solid night for Chadron saw them take over in the late innings to run away with a 10-2 win.
Chadron opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the top of the second with a Jack O’Brien RBI single followed by a run driven in by 22 Wright. Valentine brought the game within one heading into the top of the fourth when Chadron rode a pair of singles and a walk that drove in runs as they raced ahead 6-1. The night was finalized with four more runs in the top of th fifth as Chadron completed their annual trek to the College World Series with a 10-2 win.
O’Brien was really good for Chadorn going 3-3 with three runs scored while Tobin Landen was credited with three runs along with getting the win on the mound.
Chadron completed the trip 2-0 with a wild 12-11 win at Ogallala back on Thursday with a game in Wahoo against Valparaiso back on Saturday rained out.
Tuesday night they will continue a long road trip with a top in Alliance where the juniors will join them for a juniors/seniors doubleheader.
