Chadron Cardinals Open Fall Camp

Loading

Chadron High School football opened fall camp Monday with a morning practice. The Cardinals will have two days of helmets only, followed by two days of helmets and shoulder pads then will be able to go full pads starting Friday.

The Cardinals are coming off a 6-4 season which ended in a first round playoff loss to Ashland-Greenwood. The Cardinals are returning one of the leading rushers in the state from last year in Quinn Bailey who had 1,997 yards with 29 rushing touchdowns. Bailey also led the team in tackles last year with 72. Also returning for the Cardinals is Caden Buskirk who had 56 tackles.

Sophomore quarterback Tobin Landen looks to be in position to take over the starting role after Broc Berry graduated this past May. Landen will need to find new weapons at wide receiver as top receivers from the 2023 season Gage Wild and Trey Hendrickson graduated.

Chadron begins their 2024 campaign on Friday August 30th with a home game vs Broken Bow.
