Chadron City Manager Tom Menke says the city dams are once again open to the public with no further closures expected this year.
The city closed the area last week to allow crews to complete regular maintenance projects more safely and efficiently, and Menke says the closure resulted in the work being completed more quickly than expected.
Menke says there will be on-going work work at the dams such as vegetation management, but not of the sort that would lead to another closer.
He says the city apologizes for any inconveniences that the closure imposed on anyone and truly appreciates the patience and understanding of the public because of it.
