Chadron Cross Country Competes In Scottsbluff

The Chadron Cardinals boys and girls cross country teams opened up their season in Scottsbluff on Thursday evening. The boys team had 12 runners in the race and were led by freshman Braylon Branson who ran a 19:10 to pace the Chadron runners, finishing in 15th. Henrich Rider finished 25th with a time of 19:47. Maxx Stewart (21:12), Brayden Landerth (21:55), Samson Sprague (21:55), and Sam Kuhl (22:12) rounded out the varsity runners in the boys race.

In girls the Cardinals had eight girls competing, they were led by Lillie Uhing who ran a 23:29, finishing 19th to pace the Cardinals girls. Jentsyn Fuller followed her with a 23:55 to finish 21st. The rest of the varsity girls that factored into the scoring were Ava Pyle with a 24:20 to finish 27th, freshman Brynn Buskirk finished 29th with a 24:36, Sidney Schmidt ran a 25:01 for 35th and Anabelle VanderMay rounded out the varsity scoring running a 25:18 to finish 41st. 

The cross country teams will next run on Friday September 6th, in Gering with a morning start time.
