Laney Klemke buried a pair of game tying free throws with 5.5 seconds left in regulation and the Chadron girls would outscore Ogallala 7-0 in overtime to advance to the semifinals of the C1-12 sub-district tournament with a 51-44 win on Monday night.
Ogallala used a 10-1 4th quarter run to take a 44-42 lead on the Cardinals until Klemke’s heroics.
Chadron used a 9-of-11 first half performance from the free throw line for a 22-17 lead at the break and finished the game 20-of-29 from the line.
Demi Ferguson had a game high 18 points and Sophie Wess chipped in 10.
Chadron will turn their attention to Bridgeport on Tuesday evening at 5:00 pm. The winner advances to Thursday’s C1-12 championship game.
