Chadron Falls to North Platte

The Chadron Platte Valley Bank Post 12 Seniors fell in two heartbreakers last night to North Platte in a double header. In the first game North Platte got the first run before a pitchers duel started with each team going scoreless the next three innings. North Platte tripled their money in the top half of the 5th with Chadron being held scoreless through five. The 6th inning went wild with North Platte scoring three to take a 6-0 lead into the bottom half. Chadron staged a comeback in the bottom of the sixth that fell just short. Falling by a score of 6-5. 

Broc Berry had a triple and Caden Buskirk had a double in the loss.

The nightcap of the doubleheader saw much the same with North Platte scoring the first seven runs with Chadron being held scoreless until the bottom half of the 5th. Chadron slowly chipped away at the North Platte lead with three runs in the bottom of the 5th and 6th while adding a two spot in the 7th to counter a 6th inning run by North Platte to tie the game at eight a piece after seven innings. 

In extras, North Platte got one run in the top of the inning while Chadron was not able to continue the hot bats. Falling by a 9-8 score. 

Edwin Fillspipe ended the game with two hits while Creighton Ryan had three RBI’s in the loss. 

The Chadron Juniors host Sheridan County in a doubleheader tonight at Maurice Horse Field with a first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m. The seniors get 12 days off, going to Torrington on June 11th.
