The Chadron Festival of Quilts opened its doors this morning at 9:00 with the theme “Log Cabin Frenzy” and a new location, the Dawes County Fairgrounds Event Center.
Festival spokeswoman Caroline Brennan doesn’t think area residents would have any trouble finding it, but just to make sure a number of signs have been put up to help out-of-town visitors find their way.
The Festival of Quilts always showcases the work of one person and Brennan says this year’s Featured Quilter is an award-winning fabric artist from Southwest Nebraska.
Another feature of the Chadron Festival of Quilts is the presence of vendors and Brennan says this year is no exception.
Brennan says quilting supplies is only a small part of what the fourth vendor provides
The Festival also again has a specially made quilt being auctioned to help raise money for next year’s event.
Hours of the Chadron Festival of Quilts are 9-5 today and tomorrow and noon-to-4:00 on Sunday. Admission is $5, but covers all 3 days.
