Chadronโ€™s first responders kept busy answering the call through the late hours of New Years Eve and New Years Day. The Chadron Police Department made two arrests to kick off 2025 on Wednesday.

The Chadron Police Department was first called to the 400 block of Shelton Street for a domestic disturbance call. According to Chadron Police Chief Rick Hickstein, his officers arrested 28 year old Raven Seminole for charges of domestic assault in the 3rd degree second offense, assault by strangulation, and obstruction of an officer. The police was assisted by two Chadron Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Units for medical clearance of both the victim and suspect. He was booked at the Dawes County Jail.

Just a few hours later at 1:21 a.m., Chadron PD arrested 21 year old Tyler Graf on the 200 block of Main Street for alleged driving under the influence and a faulty tail light.

With the new year and winter weather coming in, Chief Hickstein wants to remind the public to be safe on the roads driving to their destinations. Hickstein stated some important things to do in the morning is run your car and let your vehicleโ€™s defrost clear your windshield before driving. Hickstein says, โ€œSome people will just get out of their car and scrape a little hole on their windshield that they can try and see through. However, that is dangerous.โ€ Hickstein wants to remind the public that motorists can be pulled over for obstructed vision in those cases. Hickstein also said it is important to give yourself time to drive to your destination and slow down for the safety of yourself and other motorists.
