For the fourth straight season the Chadron High girls cross country team will head to state as a team after taking runner-up at the C5 meet in Ogallala on Thursday.
McCook won the team title over the Cards 28-45.
Chadron put four runners inside the top 15, led by Micaiah Fuller’s 5th place finish in a time of 20:36. Grace Pyle was 11th, Emma Witte was 14th and Jentsyn Fuller crossed in 15th.
Gothenburg won the boys’ side by putting all 5 runners in the top 15.
Three area runners are off to state from the D6 district meet in Bridgeport.
Gordon-Rushville’s Tyrah American Horse is headed back to Kearney with a 7th place finish in the girls race.
On the boys side Gordon-Rushville’s Greogry Johns took 13th and Hay Springs Freshman Parker Wellnitz grabbed the last individual spot with a 15th place performance.
State will be next Friday at the Kearney Country Club.
