A reprieve from the heat brought the winds with it as the Chadron high golf team wrapped up their regular season Monday at a windy Skyview Golf Course in Alliance.
The Cardinals shot a 394 to finish third behind Scottsbluff and Sidney while Taegan Bach shot an 89 to finish second to Addie Peck from Scottsbluff.
The running order for the teams at the brutally long Skyview Golf Course saw Scottsbluff win with a 380, Sidney followed in second with a 391. Chadron was in third with a 394, Gering was in fourth with a 410 and Alliance rounded out the team scoring in fifth with a 444.
Addie Peck from Scottsbluff finished first with an 82. Bach from Chadron was second with an 89 then the leaderboard tightened up with third going to Elliot Selzar from Scottsbluff, carding a 91. Claire Jordan from Sidney was fourth with a 93, fifth was Lauren Doll from Gering, shooting a 96.
Sixth was Katie Raffelson with a 97, then a four way tie for seventh rounded out the top 10 with all four golfers shooting a 98. Emmerson Landerth from Chadron, Josette McConnell from Sidney, Ashley Feil from Gering, and Emily McCune from Alliance were the ones who shot a 98.
Rounding out the team scoring from Chadron was Reese Ritterbush with a 103, Eliana Uhing shot a 104 and Gillian Conway shot a 111.
Next up for the Chadron Cardinals is the class C-5 district tournament at Crandall Creek Golf Course in Ogallala. Joining Chadron will be Bayard, Bridgeport, Creek Valley, Dundy County Stratton, Garden County, Gordon-Rushville, Hershey, Kimball, Mitchell, Mullen, North Platte St. Patrickโs, Ogallala, Perkins County, Southwest, and Valentine. This will be played on Monday October 7th with the top 10 individuals and top three teams advancing to the state tournament in North Platte at Lake Maloney Golf Club.
