Chadron High Records Fall At Best Of The West Meet

It was a night of records and gold medals for the Chadron High boys track team at the Best of the West Classic in Scottsbluff.

The 4x100m relay team of Rhett Cullers, Xander Provance, Malachi Swallow and Quinn Bailey broke their own Chadron High record of 43.43 seconds, set just last Friday at the Western Conference meet, with a winning time of 42.79.

The same four runners made up the 4x400m relay team that took down the old school record of 3:24.5 with a first place time of 3:24.37. The previous school record was set in 1998.

The Chadron girls 4x800m relay team of Beau Behrends, Cali Hendrickson, Grace Pyle and Micaiah Fuller also claimed gold with their season best time of 10:22.85, Gordon-Rushville was 12-seconds back in 2nd place.

Lady Mustang McKinley Grover won the discus with a toss of 129’ 0”

Cullers (14.63), Provance (14.76) and Swallow (15.48) went 1, 2 ,3 in the 110m hurdles and Swallow captured gold in the 300m hurdles with a 39.05, one-one hundredth of a second ahead of Cullers.

Provance took 2nd in the long jump with a season best leap of 21’ 2”.

Following his three golds and a silver performance, Cullers was named the most outstanding male athlete of the meet.

All area athletes will conclude the regular season on Friday at the Bayard B-C-D Invite.
