The Chadron Platte Valley Bank American Legion Post 12 seniors started a three game road trip with a 6-4 win over North Platte in a nine-inning game.
The game started off as a pitchers duel with both starters making in through five innings unharmed. Chadron was able to get the bats going in the 6th scoring all six of their runs in the top half of the sixth inning
Logan Salma, Kobe Bissonette, Caden Buskirk, Tobin Landen, Derek Bissonette, and Tobin Meyer drove in a run each in that sixth inning.
North Platte was able to chip away in the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings but solid pitching by starter Buskirk and closer Broc Berry was just enough to give Chadron their third win of the season.
Buskirk went eight innings, allowing one earned one on 10 hits with four strikeouts and got the win. Berry came in to close out the ninth and got the credit for the save.
3-9 Chadron will now journey now I-80 to take on Elkhorn in a doublheader Saturday night before returning home to face Sidney on Tuesday.
