There are a pair of competing fundraisers starting at 5:00 tonight in Chadron.
One is at The Ridge for the Chadron State College football team and the other is at and for the Chadron Arts Center.
This is the second year The Ridge has hosted a traditional Louisiana Crawfish Boil.
Owner Ron Moore says the vendor who supplies and cooks the crawfish, also known as crayfish and crawdads, has brought more than 300 pounds of the small crustaceans.
Tickets are $25 and Moore emphasizes that all the proceeds go to the Chadron State football program.
Tonight is also the 2nd annual Tapped and Uncorked alcohol tasting event at the Arts Center, but the first was held all the way back before before the pandemic hit in spring of 20202.
Advance sale admission tickets are $25 at the Chadron Chamber of Commerce or from any Chadron Arts Center board members. If any remain, they can be purchased at the door for $30.Â
Board member Jessica Fryda says from 5:00-9:00 participants can enjoy wine, beer, food, and live music tonight from 5:00-9:00.
Additional tasting tickets can be purchased. The vendors will also have full-size products available for sale, and ticket purchasers will receive commemorative wine glasses.
