High school playoff football hits full speed across Nebraska today with all seven classes in action.
14th seeded Chadron opens the C1 playoffs on the road this afternoon at #3 Ashland-Greenwood. The Cardinals used last week’s 28-21 win over McCook to clinch the spot and make the postseason for the first time since 2021. The Bluejays are in the playoffs for the 6th straight season and have won their opener in each of those appearances.

Hay Springs rode a five game win streak to clinch the 7th seed in the D6 playoffs and earned a home game against #11 Hampton this afternoon. Sharing the nickname the Hawks, they’re both in the playoffs for a 2nd straight year.

Sioux County is making the longest road trip of the playoffs, regardless of class, when they meet Pawnee City this evening. The Warriors drove the 537 miles to southeast Nebraska as the 13th seed.
Like Chadron, Sioux County hasn’t been in the playoffs since 202.
