Chadron PD Back With “Shop With A Cop”

Loading

The Chadron Police Department’s Annual “Shop with a Cop” is getting underway for a 19th time.

The program has police officers raise money to take Chadron school children Christmas shopping.

Officer Derek Bauer is once again heading up the program and says it’s once again starting with fundraising with big water bottles and the slogan “A Little Change Can Make a BIG Difference!”

Bauer, Chadron’s School Resource Officer, emphasizes that all donations raised are used to purchase food, clothing, and gifts.

As for who gets helped, Bauer says he gets input on that from many sources, especially the teachers and staff of the Chadron Public Schools.

Bauer says Shop With a Cop has also proven to be a great way for the officers and children to get to know each other – adding that the experiences are always a fun, exciting, and sometimes interesting time for both.

Bauer says the Chadron Police Department would like to give a great “Thank You” to the generous citizens and businesses for their years of support with this program
