Chadron PD Has a Busy Labor Day Weekend

Loading

It was a busy Labor Day weekend for the Chadron Police Department.

Starting on Friday, at about ten after 11 in the evening, officers responded to the 400 block of Main Street for an alleged 3rd Degree assault. Police Chief Rick Hickstein stated that the reporting person reported to the jail, and based on interviews with the involved parties, and evidence reported at the scene, 48 year old Leslie Lame was issued a citation for third degree assault.

Then, shortly before 8 oโ€™clock Labor Day morning, a 2016 Ford Fusion was reported stolen from the 400 block of Maple Street. Chief Hickstein says neither the vehicle or suspect has been found as of Wednesday morning.

At 8 oโ€™clock Monday morning, officers arrested Tyrell Yonkton on a bench warrant with Dawes County. Chief Hickstein stated that officers observed him walking away from a separate call, where they promptly detained and arrested him.

Chief Hickstein also wants to remind the public that there have been an influx of vehicle break ins recently. He says many residents have been able to provide video surveillance of some of these break ins, and the suspects appear to be juveniles. According to Hickstein, one of his officers has conducted a number of interviews this week and he believes they may be close to finding suspects in this case. However, the chief wants to remind everyone to lock your vehicle doors and donโ€™t leave valuables in your car.
