The Nebraska State Patrol and Chadron Police Department made an arrest over the weekend in the unattended death of 10 month old Madilynn Lenhart.
Around 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 19th, law enforcement along with the Dawes County Attorney/Coroner were dispatched to investigate the death. Following a review of the scene, witness interviews and consultation with medical personnel, the father of the child, Riley Lenhart, was arrested and charged by the Dawes County Attorney with child abuse resulting in death.
An investigation is ongoing and bond for Lenhart has been set at $750,000.
