Friday Night the Chadron Cardinals went two hours east down Highway 20 and returned late that night with a 43-6 win over the Valentine Badgers.
The Quinn Bailey show returned again as the senior rushed for unofficially 340 yards while adding another 50 or so with receiving, interception return and kick/punt return yardage.
Chadron had the ball first and after two plays Valentine had the ball inside the redzone, the Cardinals defense stepped up big and forced a turnover on downs. Chadron then settled down and ran it down the Badgers’ throats. A Caden Buskirk 25 yard touchdown run opened up the scoring and it was all Cardinals from there.
Chadron pitched a shutout 28-0 at half and made it 36-0 at the end of the third quarter to start the running clock. Valentine was able to get their first points against Chadron since 2022, but a Tobin Landen touchdown pass to Jesse Sitting Holy wrapped up the scoring as Chadron won 43-6 to move to 2-0.
Bailey unofficially with 340 yards on 18 carries and three rushing touchdowns to go with a receiving touchdown.
Buskirk had 25 yards on the ground with 1 TD.
Landen was 5/12, 106 yards with 2 TDโs and 2 INTโs.
Next up for the Cardinals is 1-1 Mitchell on Friday Night. The homecoming game will start at 7pm at Cardinal Field.
