1.  ROUTINE MATTERS:

a.  Welcome and Recognition of Visitors-

b.  Meeting Called to Order – A complete copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act is posted on the west wall and in the BOE Documents folder.

h. Awards and/or Honors- 

  • Big thank you to the Class of 1972 for the donation.

i. High Fives-

  • All of the parents who came out for Parent-Teacher Conferences on September 15th. We had 72% of our CMS parents attend.
  • CMS Hope Squad for offering QPR training to Hope Squad members and their families on September 28th.
  • Mr. Paopao and all of the teachers and staff who presented at our annual CPS Cards Tech Day on October 3rd!
  • Congratulations to the CMS 7th and 8th-grade volleyball and XC teams on their excellent seasons!
  • To all of the families that attended our Parent Information Night and Title 1 Meeting ~ we did not have a great turnout; however, we did share the information on our social media sites.  We were able to reach 233 viewers with our Seesaw app.
  • To Mr. Paopao and the tech department for support during our in-service; our staff members that attended NETA were also presenters along with our tech department team members.
  • To CIS staff and students for finishing our MAPS assessments.
  • To Mr. Paopao and staff for organizing and presenting at our Technology Conference on Oct. 3rd.
  • To Miss Heather Valencia, for everything she does as our amazing custodian in recognition of National Custodian’s Day on Oct. 2nd.
  • To the Chadron Volunteer Fire Department for coming and talking to students on Oct. 4th about fire safety for Fire Prevention Week.
  • To the CSC Women’s Basketball Team for sending players to help out in classrooms weekly and participate in our Need to Read time on Sept. 23rd and 30th.
  • To the Bird Conservatory of the Rockies for hosting our 3rd grade students at the Chadron State Park bird banding station and providing fun activities on Sept. 29th.
  • Chadron High School is a winner of the College Success Award hosted by GreatSchools and recognizes and celebrates public high schools that excel at preparing students to enroll and succeed in college. 
  • Mr. Michael Sandstrom, a teacher at Chadron High School in Chadron, contributed to a new publication, Finding, Analyzing, and Constructing History: A Research Guide for Students. This publication, available for free at nhd.org/library-congress-tps, is co-produced by National History Day and the Library of Congress.
  •  Mr. Sandstrom was awarded the 3rd Congressional District Outstanding Teacher of the Year in Social Studies by the Nebraska State Council for the Social Studies.
  • Thank you to Mr. Nobiling for providing our district school safety training to NCAP offices in Chadron, Gordon and Alliance this month. Northwest Community Action Partnership reached out to us to ask for assistance to provide training consistent with our protocols for safety topics including school attackers and lockdown procedures.
  • Mr. Nobiling was invited to provide safety training to all NCAP offices in Chadron, Alliance and Gordon.  NCAP asked for the school attacker training that Chadron Schools provides to students and staff.
