Defending boys all-class gold medal 110 m high hurdler Xander Provance is making the return trip with a winning district time of 14.34 . Rhett Cullers, also a state placer last year, is state bound as well after taking silver with a time of 14.61.

Malachi Swallow returns to Omaha in the 300m hurdles with a 1st-place finish in a time of 39.14 and Cullers again 2nd with a 39.72. Swallow also qualified in the 100m dash with a 3rd place finish and time of 11.2.

The 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams of Provance, Swallow, Cullers and Quinn Bailey swept both titles with times of 43.26 and 3:24.53.

The Chadron girls 4x800m relay team of Beau Behrends, Makinley and Micaiah Fuller and Grace Pyle finished 3rd and didn’t automatically qualify, but their time of 10:10.40 should make them a wild card as one of the 4 fastest non-qualifiers in the state.

Additional qualifiers will be announced later this week.

The state track meet for classes A and B will start a week from Wednesday.
