Chadron, Sioux County Face Unbeaten Opponents

It’s a battle of unbeaten teams tonight at Cardinal Field when Chadron welcomes Mitchell. It’s the first time in over a decade that the teams haven’t met as district foes since Mitchell dropped to Class C2 this season.

Each team has won their first two games by at least three touchdowns but last year Chadron rolled Mitchell by 36 points.

– Sioux County has a meeting of 2-0 teams as they take the 4 hour drive to Wauneta-Palisade. The two teams haven’t met since they were playing in the 6-man coaches association.

Sioux County hasn’t started a season 3-0 since 2019.

– Hay Springs is coming off of their bye and sits at 1-0 but they have a big task at top ranked Potter-Dix.

Last week the Coyotes dusted Crawford to the tune of 91-6 and Hay Springs took down Paxton 28-6 in their opener.

– Coming off of their first win of the season Gordon-Rushville is home tonight to entertain Sidney on homecoming night.

The Red Raiders have an identical 1-1 record after last week’s win over Chase County.

– If you thought Sioux County had a long drive today, Hot Springs has a 6 hour drive to Dell Rapids trying to put together back to back wins.

Dell Rapids has yet to be tested with a pair of 20 point wins.
