Chadron Cardinals softball last year went 13-14, a season that included winning the Class C-10 subdistrict title. This year they look to return to the district finals under 12th year head coach Jodi Hendrickson.
Senior Sarah LeBere will be a huge part of the team this year having let the team with a .387 batting average last season with 28 RBIs and two home runs. Averielle Sager and Jodean Chelsey are returning seniors on this years team. Sager hit .345 with five RBIs last year and Chelsey added five runs while hitting .260. Also returning for Chadron is Brooklyn Hoffman, Chloe Wright, Jayce Turman, and Alex Rasmussen.
The team will be without juniors Cali Hendrickson and Jaelynn Brown this year with both girls out for the season with knee injuries.
Chadron will begin their season on August 22nd when the Southern Valley Eagles come to Chadron.
