Chadron Splits Road Games At Torrington

The Chadron High boys and girls basketball teams split with Torrington on the road on Tuesday night.

The Torrington girls outscored Chadron 15-8 in the final quarter to break open a 38-37 game for a 53-45 win over the Cardinals. Trailing 27-23 at the half, Chadron used a 10-3 to start the 3rd quarter and briefly grab a lead before the Blazers rallied back in front.

Demi Ferguson had 14 points to lead Chadron and Taverra Sayaloune had 12. Jaycee Hurley had 15 to pace Torrington.

The Chadron boys started the game on a 9-1 courtesy of three straight Brady Daniels three pointers, but Torrington pulled ahead by half at 21-18 before the Cards outscored Torrington 27-18 in the 2nd half for the 45-39 victory.

Daniels finished the night with 13 while Broc Berry tallied 12. Weston Dyer had 14 for Torrington.

Chadron will turn around and play at Scottsbluff on Thursday to close out the pre-Christmas schedule.
