The Chadron Cardinals volleyball opened the season up in Mitchell Thursday Night and brought out the brooms in dominating fashion. Sweeping the Tigers 25-12, 25-21, 25-17 to go to 1-0 on the season.
It was junior Paige Slingsby who led the Cardinals in kills with 12 on 24 attempts. Beau Behrends was second on the team in kills with seven. The Cardinals hit very well with a .325 hitting percentage.
Freshman Jexy Alcorn had a great night in service for the Cardinals with five aces in her varsity debut, part of the 13 aces for the Cardinals. Head coach Blaklee Hoffman said after the game,”I couldn’t be happier for the girls starting off their season with this kind of win! This is a group who has always played so well together and it truly showed tonight.”
The Cardinals now gear up for a tournament at Rapid City Christian this Saturday.
