The Chadron High girls and boys basketball teams both won on the same night for the first time this season as they swept Gordon-Rushville in the Bird Cage on Friday night.
The Gordon-Rushville girls trimmed a 17 point Chadron 4th quarter lead down to four before the Cardinals rallied for a 63-51 victory, handing first year head coach Kelsey Scott her first win as Chadron’s leader.
Chadron put four players into double figures, led by Demi Ferguson’s 17 points. Taverra Sayaloune dropped 12, Jaleigh McCartney added 11 and Taegan Bach scored 10.
The Chadron boys held Gordon-Rushville to four made baskets and 13 of 14 players suited up scored points as they rolled to a 66-10 win over the Mustangs.
Making his first career start, Thomas Smith was high point for the Cards with 10 points. Broc Berry and Gage Wild tallied 9 a piece to give Chadron their 2nd straight win.
