Chadron Teams Stumble At Gordon-Rushville

The Chadron High boys and girls basketball teams had tough luck on the road on Saturday, dropping both games of their double header with Gordon-Rushville.

The Chadron girls took a 31-30 lead into the 4th quarter against the Mustangs only to get outscored 15-9 in the final 8 minutes of a 45-40 loss.

Demi Ferguson and Marlee Pinnt shared team high honors with 10 points each.

Chadron drops to 8-8 on the season.

The Chadron boys went on a 15-0 run through the 2nd and 3rd quarters to tie Gordon-Rushville at 28 a piece, but the Mustangs answered and avenged an overtime loss in December with a 49-39 victory.

Xander Provance was the only Cardinal in double figures with 16 points.

The Cardinal boys are now 6-9 on the year.

Chadron will travel to Bridgeport on Tuesday to close out a three game road trip.
