The Chadron Cardinals continued their stretch of road games to begin the season Thursday night, this time at Gordon-Rushville where they brought home their second straight five set (23-25, 25-15, 27-25, 22-25, 19-17) victory.
This time it was the Mustangs of Gordon-Rushville that got the first set win, Chadron was able to battle back and even it up at a set a piece by winning the second set. The match then tightened up with the last three sets having a difference of three at the most as Chadron took the third 27-25. Gordon-Rushville won the fourth 25-22. The fifth set, traditionally a first to 15 set ended up being a best of 19 as Chadron brought home the win 19-17.
The Cardinals are now 6-2 on the season and will have their home opener next up on September 10th against Alliance. We will have that game on 107.7 KBPY with pregame at 5:50 and first serve at 6.
