The Chadron Cardinals volleyball team ventured down to Alliance this past Saturday for the annual Western Conference Invite. The Cardinals were paired in pool A with Alliance and Gering.
The Cardinals got off to a rough start against Gering losing in straight sets 25-15, and 25-16. The Cardinals then turned around and played the hosts Alliance and once again fell in straight sets 25-17, and 25-23.
That put the Cardinals in the sixth place match over at Alliance Middle School against Sidney who lost to Scottsbluff and Mitchell. The Red Raiders swept the Cardinals 25-19, 25-19.
The Western Conference Tournament was won by Gering, Scottsbluff finished 2nd, Alliance 3rd, Mitchell 4th, Sidney 5th, Chadron 6th.
The Cardinals sit at 12-18 and will host Sidney Tuesday night for parents night. We will be carrying the game on 107.7 KBPY FM and chadrad.com with pregame at approximately 5:50 and first serve at 6.
