The Chadron Cardinals volleyball team went on the road to Scottsbluff Tuesday Night, and brought home a thrilling five set win over the Scottsbluff Bearcats.
Chadron sprinted to a 2-0 lead over Scottsbluff, winning the first set 25-18, and taking set two 25-22. The Bearcats got set three 25-19 and set four 25-22. The fifth and deciding set went the way of the Cardinals 15-13 to win 3-2 and avoid a reverse sweep.
Paige Slingsby and Jezy Alcorn led the team with 11 kills each with Chadron out hitting Scottsbluff .152 to .104.
Statistically, Chadron dominated the match with a match lead in aces, digs, and serve receives.
The Cardinals are now 5-2 and go to Gordon-Rushville Thursday night with their home opener coming up on Tuesday vs Alliance.
