The Chadron Cardinals volleyball team took to the road this past Friday/Saturday in Gothenburg for the Harvest Festival Invite. The Cardinals played six matches over the two days and came home 2-4 on the weekend.
The Friday portion of the tournament saw the Cardinals struggle, losing all three of their matches. They started the day losing to Minden 25-10, 25-13. Then followed up by losing to Ogallala in three sets, The Cardinals then wrapped up the day by losing to Kearney Catholic 25-15,25-15 to end the day 0-3.
On Saturday the Cardinals went 2-1, losing to York but defeating Gothenburg and St. Paul. The day started for the Cardinals by losing to York 25-9, 25-13. They then followed it up with their first win of the weekend defeating the hosts Gothenburg 25,20, 8-25, 26-24 in three sets. The Cardinals wrapped up the tournament by defeating St. Paul 25-19, 23-25, 25-16 to finish the tournament 2-4.
The Cardinals now sit with an 8-10 record and will be off until Thursday when they host Scottsbluff. We will have that game on FM 107.7 KBPY FM and chadrad.com. Pregame is set for approximately 5:50 with first serve at approximately 6.
