For the second year in a row, the Chadron High softball team is now one step away from the state tournament after capturing the C-10 sub-district title on Monday.
The top seeded Cardinals made quick work of Chase County in their opener behind 13 hits in an 18-0 win. JoDean Chesley threw a no-hitter in the circle with a pair of strikeouts.
Chadron squared off with Bayard, a 5-3 winner over Hershey, in the championship game and again only needed three innings to grab the win, 14-2.
Chadron now advances to the district final series this Friday or Saturday with an opponent to be determined on Tuesday morning.
