Chadron’s Bach Fires 98 On Day One Of State Golf

Chadron’s Taegan Bach fired a first round 98 and is tied for 42nd at the Class C girls state golf meet at Lake Maloney golf course in North Platte.

After shooting a 50 on her first nine Bach rebounded with a 48 on the 2nd nine, powered by back to back pars.

Camryn Johnson of Broken Bow leads the field with a 1-under 71. Broken Bow also leads the team race with a score of 344, six strokes ahead of Minden.

Scottsbluff’s Nielli Heinold is tied for 2nd at the Class B meet at Scottsbluff Country Club with a day one score of 77. The Bearcats are 3rd in team standings with a 353, two strokes out of 2nd.

Lincoln East has the top golfer and top team after the first round of Class A at Riverside Golf Club in Grand Island. Isabella Elgert fired a 71 and the Spartans squad scored a 309.
