The Nebraska State Track Meet in Omaha wasn’t terribly kind to Chadron High yesterday as the only 2 Cards in action both finished 22nd out of 24 competitors.
Olivia Lyon came into the meet in the middle of the pack in the discus with a season best of 119-8, but threw just 91-feet even. Madison Smith of Gothenburg won by 15-feet with a throw of 147-1.
Kendall Carnahan’s finish in the 3200 matched her place in the ranking, but her time of 12:04.72 cut nearly 12-seconds off her ranking time. York’s Cassidy Stuckey took the gold in 10:40.94
The Class B and A meets wrap up today and Chadron has one girl left. Sophie Watson was the district runner-up in the HJ at 5-3, matching the 2nd-best jump at any of the districts. The HJ gets underway at 8:00 MT this morning.
