Funeral services for 74-year old Charlene Walking Bull are Monday, March 21, 2022 at 11:30 at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge, SD, with Pastor Jeremy Mouw officiating.
Burial will follow at 1:30 at the Gethsemane Episcopal Cemetery in Wanblee, SD.
Visitation will precede the funeral starting 10:30, also at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge
Charlene Walking Bull was born on September 17, 1947 in Pine Ridge, SD to Charles Walking Bull and Edna (Weasel) Walking Bull. Charlene made her journey to the Spirit World on January 31, 2022 at the Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln, NE.
Charlene was a force to be reckoned with and will be remembered as a strong woman whose family was her most precious gift. With a kind and helpful heart, she lived life by loving those around her.
Charlene is survived by her daughters, Lakota (Larry) Granger-Marley and Voncioe Walking Bull; grandchildren, Oddie C. Granger III, Gabriel Hodge, Xavier McNeely, Alex McNeely, Dionte Granger, Cheyenne Granger, China Granger, Derion Granger, Gabrielle Chism, and Carmen Patterson; 8 great-grandchildren; and cousins, Mildred Alkire, Alexander White Plume, Percy White Plume, Rita White Plume, Ramona White Plume, Carla Crazy Thunder, and Carleen Crazy Thunder.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Walking Bull and Edna (Weasel) Walking Bull; cousin, Valance Weasel; and siblings, Gilbert C. Walking Bull, Gabriel Walking Bull, Floyd Leo Walking Bull, Lorenzo Walking Bull, David Walking Bull, Rosebud Walking Bull, Rosalene Walking Bull, Salome Walking Bull, Dolores Spencer, Oddie C. Granger, Sr., and Oddie C. Granger, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Adam Aguilar, Timothy White Plume, Theo Two Eagle, Zuya White Plume, Numpa White Plume, Gabriel White Plume, and Mato White Plume.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Spencer Families of Idaho, and All Friends & Relatives.
