Chauncey Edward Brown, Jr. was born on February 16, 1974 in Pine Ridge, SD to Chauncey Red Bear Brown, Sr. and Alta White Plume. Chauncey made his journey to the Spirit World on August 27, 2024 in Rapid City, SD.
Chauncey is survived by his children, Andrew Brown, Sr., Porter, Daniella, Dayton, Arrow, Sophia and Deanna, and Chauncey Richards III; siblings, Harry Red Bear-Brown, Leroy Brown, Marvin Brown, Henry Brown, Jr., Tatanka He Luta, Ivan White Butterfly, Grace Walker, Geraldine Brown, Sandra Waters, Sophie Brown, Edna Hoof, Henrietta Brown, Rosebud White Plume, Leslie Cary White Butterfly, Karen Wounded, Shane Wounded, Nicolette Wounded, Nicholas Wounded, Evans Travis Brown, Ramona, Paula, and Pete Brown; auntie moms, Rita White Plume and Ramona White Plume; Leski Ate’, Percy White Plume & Alex White Plume, Sr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.
Chauncey was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Mae Good Voice Elk; father, Henry Red Bear-Brown; biological father, Chauncey Red Bear-Brown, Sr.; biological mother, Alta White Plume; daughter, Valerie Brown; brothers, Robert Brown, Abel Red Bear-Brown, Henry Aaron Red Bear-Brown, Michael White Plume, Sr., Marlin White Plume, Tawapaha Luta White Butterfly; and sisters, Theresa Red Bear-Brown-Mesteth, Julia Red Bear-Brown, Bernice Red Bear-Brown, and Michelle White Plume.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Hoof, Isaac Caldwell, Antoine Long Soldier, Nathan Ghost, Jr., Fernando White Butterfly, Kenny Paul, Delbert Bad Milk, Theo Edward Two Eagle, Jeremy Chase, and Brandon Caldwell.
