People in the eastern Nebraska town of Fremont who are pulled over by police for minor traffic violations this week are getting a dose of Christmas cheer instead of a ticket.Â
Fremont police are handing out $100 bills, continuing a tradition dating back to the early 2010s, designed to create goodwill between the community and police with funding from anonymous donors.
Officer Jim Butt says he had to ask a woman if she was OK because of her reaction after he handed her a holiday card with $100 inside.
