Burial is at the Irving Family Cemetery in the Calico Community of Pine Ridge.
A one-night wake service starts Friday, Jan 19, at 4:00 at the Wolf Creek School Gym with evening services at 7:00

Chelsea Lynn Ross “Iha Hopeca Win” was born on Oct 6, 1990 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital to DeAnn Twiss-Jackson and Duane “Chuck” Ross. Chelsea made her journey to the Spirit World on Jan 12, 2024 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Chelsea was a loving young woman who would give the shirt off her back to help anyone. As a young girl, Chelsea loved spending time with her Auntie Angie and Uncle Brownie at Calico.
It was there that she made so many fond memories and she grew into the beautiful person she became.
Chelsea’s Grandpa Casper was her molding. He was her “Cat’s Meow,” he taught her that nothing was trash-everything could be used for something, and she did just that all through her life.
Chelsea had three beautiful children: Brylei Taya, Honest Adriel, and Suzie Taylei. She was so proud of her babies and they all carry her traits. She came to be a very spiritual person and was strong in her traditional ways.
Chelsea had a special bond with her Aunt Maggie, who she loved so much, and her bonding with her Ross family and their circle was special. She loved to sing and speak Lakota.
Chelsea fought her sickness as long as she could for her children. She endured so much in trying to fight her health problems for them. Now she is their Guardian Angel who will walk with them through life.
Chelsea was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Casper Twiss and Gertrude Irving-Twiss; her aunt Lana Twiss-Hernandez; and paternal great-grandparents Margaret Cuny and Thomas Cuny and Harvey and Agnes Ross.
Chelsea is survived by her parents DeAnn Twiss-Jackson and Duane “Chuck” (Winona) Ross; grandparents Sharon Martin, Duane “Hep” (Janet) Ross; children Brylei Taya Twiss, Honest Adriel Ross, and Suzie Taylei Ross; siblings Ryan and LaRissa (Tyler) Ross of Rapid City, SD, Leland White Bear Claws, Jon Ross, Duane “Yamni” Ross III, and Davonte Ross of Wounded Knee, SD, Tashaun Jackson of Porcupine, SD, Kyra Jackson of Kyle, SD, and Jessica Pumpkinseed/Boltz and Justina Bagola both of Stanley, ND; niece Tiana Eagle Elk of Rapid City, SD; nephews Aiden Eagle Elk of Rapid City, SD, Jon Ross of Des Moines, IA, and Dante White Bear Claws and Julius Ross of Wounded Knee, SD; godparents Lynnie Eagle Bull of Pine Ridge, SD and Chris Twiss of Rapid City, SD; aunts Angie (Darrell) Eagle Bull of Calico, SD, Jennifer (Melvin) Seirra, and Margaret (Jimmy Little Bull) Ross; uncles Chris Twiss of Rapid City, SD, Gregory (Donna) Ross of Porcupine, Patrick (Nanette) Ross of Rockyford, SD, William (Jackie) Ross of Flandreau, SD, Nicholas (Ashley) Ross of Flandreau, SD, and Olivia Ross of Flandreau, SD.
