Funeral services for 38-year old Cherry Cortier-Red Owl are Sat, May 22, 2021 at 2:00 at the Inestimable Gift Episcopal Church in Allen, SD, with Pastor Tim Wardell officiating and traditional Lakota services by Vernal White Thunder
Burial will be in the Inestimable Gift Episcopal Cemetery.
A one-night wake starts Friday, May 21, at 11:00, also at the Inestimable Gift Episcopal Church in Allen.
Cherry Lynn Cortier was born on November 18, 1982 in Pine Ridge, SD to Charles Cortier, Sr. and Minerva Bear Killer. Cherry made her journey to the Spirit World on May 12, 2021 at the Bennett County Hospital in Martin, SD.
Cherry Lynn is survived by her spouse Elizabeth Red Owl; daughters, Daisy Lafferty and Daiz Cortier; son, Damien Lafferty; brothers, Chuck (Charlene), Stacy (Lucy), Andrew (Gerldene), George (Angie), and Tyler (Jamier) Cortier; and sister, Jessie Cortier all of Allen, SD.
Cherry was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Cortier and Minerva Bear Killer; and brother, Judd Cortier.
Pallbearers will be Opal Conroy, Kay Bear Killer, Laura DeSersa, Jamie Cedar Face, Carrie Little crow, Angie Mabin, Charlene Wounded Head, Jasmine Iron Horse, Johnna Big Crow, Olivia DeSersa, Charmine Shot with Arrows, Tequanna Red Owl, Terri Red Owl, and Junie Shots.
