Cheryl Helen Janis was born on Oct 30, 1973 in Pine Ridge, SD to Wilson and Peggy (Two Crow) Janis.  Cheryl made her journey to the Spirit World on March 26, 2024 in Omaha, NE.

Cheryl was a special lady who had a true love for kids; she babysat and watched a lot of kids grow up.  You never saw her without her asking about the kids. Her only baby boy, Trenton Dre. was her world!

The unconditional love she showed will never go unnoticed as she was Auntie Cheryl to so many.  She would light up any room she walked into as her presence was vibrant. She always made time for a good visit, a good joke, or just a good listening ear.

Cheryl was so special she had more than 4 nicknames. Whatever name you had for her, Cheryl will always be remembered for her generous helping hand, compassionate soul, but most of all her kind heart.

Cheryl is survived by her mother Peggy Janis; son Trenton (Morgan Pourier) Janis-Iron Shield; sisters Kennita W Janis and Janelle L. Janis; brothers Wilson “Willie” Janis and Robert Lee Janis; nephews Tyson Two Crow, Ayden Fire Thunder, and Landon Janis; nieces Kenlee Bettelyoun and Bailey Jo Janis; uncle Robert Two Crow; aunt Phinette Anaya; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father Wilson “Kenneth” Janis; beloved niece Hope Lee Fire Thunder; paternal grandparents Wilson K Janis Sr and Alice F (Fool Head) Janis; maternal grandparents Dallas Two Crow and Nancy Yellow Thunder; aunts Evelyn Long Soldier, Ora Janis, and Mabel Janis; niece Evie Long Soldier; and nephews Jarrod Whistler and Shawn “Fonz” Long Soldier.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Feather Earring, Russell Running Hawk Jr, Tanner Running Hawk, Edwin Fire Thunder, Robert Lee Janis, Alsie LeBeau, Eli Brave Heart, Leon Brave Heart, Tony Long Soldier, and Wilson “Willie” Janis.
