Chester Waylon “Chet” Crow “Tasunka Wakinyan” was born on January 7, 1976 in Pine Ridge, SD to Floyd Crow and Verlyn Long Wolf. Chet made his journey to the Spirit World on October 25, 2022 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Chet is survived by his mother, Verlyn Long Wolf; spouse, Angelique Crow; children, Denzel Crow, Kyla “Anpo Win” Crow, and Madison Crow; brother, Curtis Crow; step-brothers, Robert Drown, Jacob Sounding Side, Derek Rattling Chase, Brian Starr, and Frank Starr, Jr.; step-sisters, Danelle (Lawrence) Two Bulls and Nita (Claire) Starr; aunts, Priscilla Long Wolf, Molly Matsapto, Pam Crow-Cagey, Tammy Crow, Carleen Crow, Jenny Jo Crow, Robin Crow, Terry Blacksmith, and Cheryl Blacksmith; uncles, Rex (Darlis) Crow, Dave (Lynette) Crow, Harold (Robin) Crow, Jr., Pernell Crow, Perry (Bonnie) Crow, Antonio Long Wolf, Vimber Long Wolf, Galveston Long Wolf, Llewellyn Long Wolf, Corwin Blacksmith, Linwood Blacksmith, and Ronald Blacksmith.
Chet was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Crow; step-mother, Della Starr; step-sisters, Roberta & Jennifer Starr; aunts, Patty Long Wolf, Trivean Crow-Blacksmith, Berta Crow-White, and Patty Cordova; uncle, Thomas Long Wolf; and grandparents, Russell Crow, Elfreda Slow Bear, Antonio Long Wolf, Sr. and Lucy (Red Paint) Long Wolf.
