Christmas Day Crash Claims Second Victim

Rapid City authorities say a second person has died of injuries suffered in a fatal crash on Christmas Day.

20-year old Jade Fenhaus of Rapid City died in a hospital on Sunday, 9 days after the crash that also claimed the life of 31-year old Jamie Sayler of Rapid City, who’d been pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred when the SUV occupied by Sayler, Fenhaus, and a third person left the Hwy 44 and hit a utility pole at the Center Street intersection. The third person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation, but the Rapid City Police Department said on social media shortly after the crash that alcohol and drugs were both factors in the accident.
