Wyoming was dominated on the road by Illinois, falling at the Big Ten team 38-6. It took the Illini just 2 plays and :41 to score after a 60-yd return on the opening kickoff, and they led 17-3 at the half.
     Wyoming is inexperienced, with 9 starters among 19 new players, and it showed at times on both sides of the ball.
     Illinois outgained the Cowboys 477-212 and held them to 1-12 on 3rd Down conversions. Chase Brown scored 3 touchdowns and rushed for 151 yards and Tommy DeVito completed 27 of 37 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns in his debut,
Wyoming quarterback Andrew Peasley completed just 6 of 21 passes for 40 yards in his debut, although he did run for 76. Titus Swen led Wyoming with 98 yards rushing on 17 carries.Â
